There's a new restaurant on the "east side"; at least that's what the stars of the popular 70s and 80s television show would have you believe The actors who portrayed George and Weezy Jefferson make Denny's their kitchen table in two new commercials for the nation's largest family restaurant chain that begin airing nationally today.
Created by WestWayne, Inc. of Tampa, Fla., the 30-second commercials feature actors Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford, who reunited to "ham it up" and enjoy breakfast at Denny's. Denny's signature Original Grand Slam Breakfast, introduced in 1977, is the brand's best-selling entree. Denny's "Sherman has always played characters looking for a good deal, and he presents the $2.99 Grand Slam message using his own unique style," Getz added. "Sherman and Isabel's camaraderie with each other makes people feel as much at home as with friends gathered in their kitchen." Denny's is the nation's largest full-service family restaurant chain with more than 1,800 restaurants in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Guam, Mexico, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. Denny's is owned by Advantica Restaurant Group, Inc. (OTCBB: DINE), one of the largest restaurant companies in the United States. |
