World's Largest Hot Dog Chain Unleashes New Sausage Dog With Hillshire Farm Cheddarwurst Wienerschnitzel, the world's largest hot dog chain, today announced the release of its Cheddar Sausage Melt. The new menu item is a mouthwatering combination of melted cheddar cheese, cheddar-filled smoked sausage, fire roasted peppers and onions all tucked inside a soft pretzel bun. The heart of the Cheddar Sausage Melt is a six-inch Hillshire Farm Cheddarwurst sausage that is stuffed with tiny pockets of 100 percent pure Wisconsin cheddar.
The Cheddar Sausage Melt was successfully tested for three months in the Los Angeles market prior to being launched chain-wide. The Cheddar Sausage Melt roll-out, will be supported with newspaper inserts and in-store point-of-purchase including cling-ons and translites. Founded by John Galardi in 1961 with a single hot dog stand in Wilmington, Calif., Wienerschnitzel is one of the real pioneers of the quick-service food industry. Having successfully carved out a niche with hot dogs, the world's largest hot dog chain serves more than 106 million hot dogs annually and is famous for its delicious 42-year-old proprietary chili recipe. Based in Newport Beach, Wienerschnitzel operates or franchises 333 stores in 11 states and Guam. It is part of The Galardi Group, which is also the parent company of The Original Hamburger Stand and Tastee Freez. Visit their website at www.wienerschnitzel.com. |
